payment option under Group E, which shall be effective
retroactively to the date of retirement, and repays
overpayments, if any, for the total period on retirement
if the pension payment under the Group E option elected
is less than that received as a Group D retired member,
Benefits under Group E shall be calculated based on
provisions of the law in effect at time of retirement
under Group D.

(6) Transfers from Group F to Groups A, B or
E. Whenever a Group F member fully meets the medical
standards for membership in Group A, B, or E, a transfer
shall be effected. An appropriate adjustment of
contribution rate and elective early, normal and
mandatory retirement dates shall be made. The member
shall pay the additional amount of contributions that
would have been paid from the original membership date as
a member of the group to which transferred, plus whatever
interest payments determined due by the County Personnel
Board.

(d) Normal retirement date election. A member
must make normal retirement date election by written
application at least thirty days before the date elected.
In extenuating circumstances the Chief Administrative
Officer may waive the thirty day requirement.

(f) Mandatory retirement date extension. The
Chief Administrative Officer may grant one or more
one—year extension of active membership in accordance
with the following procedures:

(1) Request for extension may be initiated
by the member, the immediate supervisor or department
head. The department head's action to approve or
disapprove the request for extension, after considering
the supervisor's recommendation, shall be reviewed by the
Chief Administrative Officer.

(3)    If deemed desirable by the Chief
Administrative Officer, the request for extension must be
accompanied by a certification of the Medical Examiner
that the member is medically acceptable for continuance
in the position and also by a certification of the
Personnel Director that all established requirements have
been met.

(4)    Request for an extension must be
submitted at least sixty days prior to mandatory
retirement date. The same request and endorsement
procedures shall be followed by a participating agency
and shall be subject to all requirements established by
the Chief Administrative Officer.
