COUNTY LOCAL LAWS
THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CHAPTER SHALL APPLY WITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF ANY INCORPORATED CITY, VILLAGE
OR TOWN WITHIN THE COUNTY WHICH BY LAW HAS BEEN GIVEN
EXPRESS AUTHORITY TO ADOPT OR ENACT LEGISLATION
PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION BASED ON RACE, COLOR, SEX,
MARITAL STATUS, AGE, RELIGIOUS CREED, ANCESTRY, OR
NATIONAL ORIGIN; PROVIDED, SUCH CITY, VILLAGE OR TOWN
SHALL ADOPT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CHAPTER AND PROVIDE
FOR ITS ENFORCEMENT WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SUCH
INCORPORATED CITY, VILLAGE OR TOWN BY THE COUNTY.
SECTION 2. Effective date.
This Act shall take effect on the 76th day following
the date on which it becomes law.

AN ACT to amend Chapter 56, title "Urban Renewal and
Community Development,1' of the Montgomery County Code
1972, as amended, by repealing and re-enacting, with
amendments. Section 56—1, title "Rehabilitation Loan
Fund" to permit the use of the Rehabilitation Loan Fund
for loans to homeowners of eligible income.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL FOR MONTGOMERY
COUNTY, MARYLAND, that
Section 1. Section 56—1, title "Rehabilitation loan
fund" of Chapter 56, title "Urban Renewal and Community
Development," of the Montgomery County Code 1972, as
amended, be and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
56—1 Rehabilitation loan fund.
The County Council is hereby empowered and
authorized by resolution to establish and thereafter to
maintain a special fund to be known as the
"rehabilitation loan fund" for the purpose of making
loans to homeowners of eligible income to finance
rehabilitation required to make their homes conform to
applicable County Code requirements, provided such loans
are not available on comparable terms and conditions from
other sources. The council shall prescribe from time to
time such terms, conditions, rules and regulations as it
