(c) Whenever a taxicab is used to serve jointly
those passengers described in subsection (a) herein, each
passenger shall pay the fare registered on the taximeter
when he leaves the taxicab, except that in the case of
additional, subsequent passengers payment shall be equal
to the fare registered on the taximeter reduced by the
amount existing on the taximeter when such passenger
entered the taxicab. The taxicab operator shall be
responsible for recording the taximeter fare at points
where additional passengers enter the taxicab.
(d) Nothing contained in this section shall affect
in any way the rates specified in subsection (b) of
Section 53—19 of this Chapter for passengers riding in
the same party.
Sec. 2. Emergency legislation.
The Council hereby finds that the enactment of this
legislation is necessary for the immediate protection of
the public health or safety and hereby declares this
enactment of emergency legislation to take effect on the
date on which it becomes law.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact subsection (c),
Section 20—14, title, "Definition of 'public
facilities'", Article IV, title, "Financing Public
Facilities Generally.," of Chapter 20, title "Finance,"
Montgomery County Code 1972, to provide that rescue
squads would be among those public facilities for which
the County is authorized to issue bonds and borrow money.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL FOR MONTGOMERY
COUNTY, MARYLAND, that
Sec. 1. Subsection (c), Section 20-14, title
"Definition of "public facilities'," Article IV, title
"Financing Public Facilities Generally.," of Chapter 20,
title "Finance," of the Montgomery County Code 1972, as
amended, is hereby repealed and re—enacted to read as
follows:
