member at time of retirement are the average hourly rate
of earnings during the last twelve months of membership
or any consecutive twelve month membership period,
whichever is greater, multiplied by two thousand eighty.
The average hourly rate for any twelve month period is
equal to the total regular earnings for the member,
divided by the total number of hours worked during the
period.
(b) Amount of pension at normal retirement date.
On or after May 1, 1970, the yearly amount of pension for
a member who retires on a normal retirement will equal
two percent of average final earnings multiplied by years
of credited service, up to a maximum of thirty—six plus
sick leave credits.
Years of credited service of less than a full year
will be pro—rated; any days of credited service in excess
of fifteen days shall equal one month, and any service of
less than fifteen days will not be counted.
Notwithstanding the above provisions, whenever a
member with thirty—six or more years of credited service
retires on or after November 1, 1971, the member's
pension shall be based upon thirty—six years of credited
service plus sick leave credits.
(d) Adjustment for pension payments previously
paid.
(1) If a member who retires has previously
retired and received pension payments, the number of
years of prior service plus the number of years of
service accrued after re—entering the Retirement System
will be used in computing the amount of pension at
subsequent retirement.
(2) If a Group A or F member receives service
connected disability pension payments, returns to work
and re—enters this Retirement System within five years of
the date that disability retirement commenced and prior
to attaining age fifty—five, the number of years of prior
service, plus the number of years the member was on
retirement, plus the number of years accrued after
re-entering the system shall be used in computing the
amount of pension at subsequent retirement.
(3) If a Group B, C, or E member receives
service connected disability pension payments, returns to
work and re—enters the Retirement System within five
years of the date that disability retirement commenced
and prior to attaining age forty-five, the number of
years of prior service, plus the number of years the
member was on retirement, plus the number of years
