minutes shall be on file with the executive secretary of
the commission and open to the public at reasonable
business hours upon request.
(8) To render at the request of the
executive or within thirty days following each quarter of
the calendar year preliminary written or oral reports of
its activities and recommendations to the County
Executive and the County Council and a final written
yearly report summarizing its activities, goals, needs
and recommendations.
(b) Despite the foregoing provisions of this law,
the commission is authorized to proceed with other
programs which will seek to relieve group tension and/or
adverse intergroup activities which may result from
causes not related to race, color, sex, religious creed,
ancestry or national origin; provided, that such action
is first submitted to the County Executive; and further
provided, that the County Executive does not disapprove
such action.
Sec. 2. Section 27—13, title "Unlawful practices,"
of Chapter 27, title "Human Relations and Civil
Liberties," of the Montgomery County Code 1972, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 27-13. Unlawful practices.
It shall be an unlawful housing practice and a
violation of this law:
(a) For any person, real estate broker or real
estate salesperson:
(1) To refuse to sell, lease, sublease,
rent, assign or otherwise transfer or to refuse to
negotiate for the sale, lease, sublease, rental,
assignment or other transfer of the title, leasehold or
other interest in any housing or to represent that
housing is not available for inspection, sale, lease,
sublease, rental assignment or other transfer when in
fact it is so available or otherwise to deny or withhold
any housing from any person because of any person's race,
color, religious creed, ancestry, national origin, sex or
marital status.
(2) To include in the terms, conditions or
privileges of any sale, lease, sublease, rental,
assignment or other transfer of any housing, any clause,
condition or restriction discriminating against any
person in the use or occupancy of such housing because of
race, color, religious creed, ancestry, national origin,
sex or marital status.
