COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

STAFF DIRECTOR AND SHALL BE LOCATED, AS SHALL THE STAFF
DIRECTOR, WITHIN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH OF COUNTY
GOVERNMENT SEPARATE AND APART FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
HEALTH OR ANY OTHER AGENCY OR DEPARTMENT HAVING
HEALTH-RELATED FUNCTIONS. OTHER PERSONNEL AND FACILITIES
MAY BE AUTHORIZED BY THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE TO ASSIST AND
COOPERATE WITH THE BOARD IN CARRYING OUT THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS SUB-CHAPTER. IN PROPOSING A BUDGET FOR THE
OPERATION OF THE BOARD AND IN SELECTING STAFF PERSONNEL
AND FACILITIES TO SUPPORT THE BOARD, THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE
SHALL TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE
BOARD AND THE STAFF DIRECTOR.

24-30 STAFF DIRECTOR AND STAFF; DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES.

THE STAFF DIRECTOR AND HIS STAFF, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
POLICIES ESTABLISHED BY THE BOARD, SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE
FOR:

(A)    COLLECTING, EVALUATING, DEVELOPING, REVIEWING,
AND MAKING AVAILABLE TO ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SUCH
INFORMATION AND DATA AS ARE NECESSARY TO DEVELOP AND
MAINTAIN THE COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH PLANNING PROCESS IN THE
COUNTY.

(B)    ACTIVELY SEEKING INFORMATION CONCERNING
COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS AND DEVELOPING RECOMMENDED
ALTERNATIVES TO MEET THOSE NEEDS.

(C)    CONSULTING WITH AND ASSISTING INTERESTED
GROUPS WHO DESIRE TO DEVELOP PROJECTS TO FULFILL THE
HEALTH NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY.

(D)    DEVELOPING AND REVISING, AS APPROPRIATE, IN
CONSULTATION WITH THE BOARD, A STAFF WORK PROGRAM TO
CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUB—CHAPTER.

(E)    SERVING AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE   FOCAL POINT FOR
THE RECEIPT AND PROCESSING OF ALL ITEMS   REQUIRING REVIEW
AND APPROVAL WITHIN THE HEALTH PLANNING     DECISION-MAKING
PROCESS.

(F)    MAINTAINING LIAISON AND COORDINATION WITH
OFFICIALS AND ORGANIZATIONS AT THE LOCAL, REGIONAL,
STATE, AND FEDERAL LEVELS WITH RESPECT TO ACTIVITIES AND
PROGRAMS IN THE FIELD OF COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH PLANNING.

(G)    INSURING THAT THE POLICIES AND PROGRAMS OF THE
BOARD ARE EFFECTIVELY IMPLEMENTED AND PROVIDING SUCH
OTHER ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT TO THE BOARD AS MAY BE
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUB-CHAPTER.
