COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

(735) Maintenance Mechanic (40)

Education equivalent to completion of eighth school
grade. Two years experience in maintenance and repair of
buildings. Or: any equivalent combination of acceptable
education and experience which has provided knowledges,
skills and abilities cited above.

Eligibility for a valid driver's license Class D,
issued by the State of Maryland prior to appointment, and
possession of such licensure within time limits specified
by the County and during tenure of employment as a
Maintenance Mechanic (40), if required by work
assignment.

(741)  Motor Equipment Mechanic I

Education equivalent to completion of eighth school
grade. Four years of experience learning automotive
mechanic trade as a helper or apprentice. Or: any
equivalent combination of acceptable education and
experience which has provided the knowledges, skills and
abilities cited above.

(742)  Motor Equipment Mechanic II

Education equivalent to completion of eighth school
grade. Six years experience learning automotive mechanic
trade as a helper or apprentice. Or: any equivalent
combination of acceptable education and experience which
has provided knowledges, skills and abilities cited
above.

(751)  Meter Reader I

Education equivalent to completion of eighth school
grade. Two years experience in use of small hand tools.
Or: any equivalent combination of acceptable education
and experience which has provided the knowledges, skills
and abilities cited above.

(752)  Meter Reader II

Education equivalent to completion of tenth school
grade. Four years of work experience, two years of which
shall have been in reading and installation of water
meters. Or: any equivalent combination of acceptable
education and experience which has provided the
knowledges, skills and abilities cited above.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED BY THE COUNTY
COUNCIL OF HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, That the
Classification Plan as herein adopted in accordance with
the classification and pay survey performed by Howard
