BOARD OF APPEALS BE SET FORTH AS SECTION 16.300 A OF THE
HOWARD COUNTY CODE TO READ AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 16.300 A - COMPENSATION
The members of the COUNTY Board OF APPEALS shall be
paid at the rate of Twelve Hundred Dollars ($1,200) per
year, IN ADDITION TO THIRTY DOLLARS ($30.00) PER OFFICIAL
PUBLIC SESSION, UP TO, BUT NOT EXCEEDING A TOTAL
CUMULATIVE SALARY OF THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000.00)
PER ANNUM, unless such compensation be changed as
provided in Section 501(f) of this Article. Members of
the Board shall receive reasonable and necessary expenses
as may be provided in the budget.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED BY THE COUNTY
COUNCIL OF HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, [[that the foregoing
Section hereby proposed as an amendment to the Howard
County Charter, at the next ensuing general election to
be]] THAT THIS ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT JANUARY 1. 1975.
[[held in this State, shall be submitted to the legal and
qualified voters of Howard County for their adoption or
rejection in pursuance of direction contained in Article
X of the Howard County Charter, and at the said general
election the vote on the proposed amendment to the
Charter shall be by ballot, and upon each ballot there
shall be printed the words "For the Charter Amendment"
and "Against the Charter Amendment" as now provided by
law; and immediately after said election all returns
shall be made to the Executive of the vote for and
against the proposed amendments, as directed by the
Article X of the Howard County Charter, and further
proceedings had in accordance with Article X.
This Act having been approved by two—thirds (2/3) of
the members of the County Council, stands enacted this
1st day of January, 1975, in accordance with the
provisions of Article X, Section 1001 of the Howard
County Charter.]]
