HARFORD COUNTY
GRANTED FOR ANY LAND WITHIN AND BETWEEN THE LINES OF A
STREET OR OTHER TRANSPORTATION ELEMENT OR OTHER SITE
SHOWN ON THE OFFICIAL MAP. IF ANY IMPROVEMENT IS MADE
WITHIN SAID LINES, [[NO COMPENSATION FOR SUCH IMPROVEMENT
FROM THE CONDEMNOR SHALL BE MADE AT THE TIME OF ANY
TAKING FOR PUBLIC USE.]] NO COMPENSATION SHALL BE MADE BY
THE CONDEMNOR FOR SUCH IMPROVEMENTS AT THE TIME OF ANY
TAKING FOR PUBLIC USE.
SECTION 25-134.
IN PROPER CASES, WHERE THE ENFORCEMENT OF SECTION
25-133 WOULD DEPRIVE THE OWNER OF LAND PLATTED ON THE
OFFICIAL MAP, WHICH LAND IS RESERVED UNDER THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS ARTICLE, THE COUNTY SHALL HAVE THE POWER AND
AUTHORITY TO GRANT VARIANCES FROM ITS TERMS AND TO PERMIT
IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE LAND PLATTED ON
THE OFFICIAL HAP.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect sixty (60) days from the date it
becomes law.

HOWARD COUNTY
Council Bill No. 1
AN ACT to repeal and re—enact with amendments Section
16.202 "Purpose," of Subtitle 2 "Zoning," to Title
16 "Planning, Zoning and Subdivision Control," of
the Howard County Code.
WHEREAS, The County Council has been advised by the
Office of Law that upon codification of the Howard County
Code, an error was made in that the editors of the Code
inserted in Section 16.212B the following statement:
"The Zoning Regulations of Howard County adopted by the
Board of County Commissioners of Howard County on May 16,
1961, as amended, is incorporated herein by reference;"
and
WHEREAS, The County Council by the enactment of
Council Bill No. 3 in the 1969 Session did create the
Howard County Zoning Board, which Board consisting of the
members of the County Council was granted authority as to
the adoption and amendment of Zoning Regulations; and
this Council Bill is sometimes described as the Howard
County Zoning Enabling Act and was codified as Section
