BALTIMORE COUNTY
APPROVED BY THE COUNTY SOLICITOR IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE
HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($500,000) IN FAVOR OF BALTIMORE
COUNTY, MARYLAND; ALL AS SECURITY for the faithful
performance by it of all the provisions of this Act, THE
FRANCHISE AGREEMENT (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ALL
WRITTEN AND ORAL SUBMISSION BY THE APPLICANT), AND
COMPLIANCE WITH ALL ORDERS, PERMITS AND DIRECTIONS OF ANY
GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY HAVING JURISDICTION OVER ITS ACTS OR
DEFAULTS, and the payment by the Company of any claims,
liens and taxes due the County which arise by reason of
the construction, operation or maintenance of the System.
THE SAID PERFORMANCE BOND SHALL BE MAINTAINED UNTIL
CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 2-15.4
HEREOF.
(b) Within thirty (30) days after notice to it
that any amount has been withdrawn from the security fund
deposited pursuant to [subdivision] SUBSECTION (a) of
this section, the Company shall pay to, or deposit with,
the [Council] COUNTY a sum of money sufficient to restore
such security fund to the original amount of [ten] FIFTY
thousand dollars [($10,000)] ($50,000).
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, that this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure affecting
the public health, safety or welfare, and having been
passed by the affirmative vote of five members of the
County Council, the same shall take effect from the date
of its enactment.

AN ACT to prohibit smoking on public transit vehicles in
Baltimore County, by adding new Section 18-26 to the
Baltimore County Code, 1968, title
"Offenses—Miscellaneous".
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MARYLAND, that new Section 18-26 be and
it is hereby added to the Baltimore County Code, 1968,
title "Offenses—Miscellaneous"; said new section to read
as follows:
Sec. 18—26 Smoking on Public Transit Vehicles prohibited
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to smoke
while aboard a public transit vehicle within the bounds
