Section 12-1322.
(a) Each taxicab registered in the county shall be
inspected [semi-annually] ANNUALLY at an inspection
station duly licensed by the state of Maryland except
that in the year in which a new taxicab is placed in
operation or taken out of operation, the number of
inspections may be reduced pro rata. AN AGENT
PRESCRIBED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
INSPECTIONS AND PERMITS SHALL INSPECT THE METERS OF EACH
TAXICAB REGISTERED IN THE COUNTY SEMI-ANNUALLY. If any
such vehicle is found to be in an unsafe condition, the
owner shall be notified of the nature of the defect and
the vehicle shall not be operated until such condition
has been remedied. [An] THE agent [prescribed by the
director of the department of inspections and permits]
shall re—inspect the vehicle and if such condition has
been remedied, the permit shall be returned to the owner.
If the taxicab is found to be unclean or unfit, but
otherwise in safe condition, the agent shall give the
taxicab owner and driver a reasonable time to remedy the
condition, after which the agent shall re-inspect the
taxicab.
(b) A certificate of inspection shall be submitted
to the department of inspections and permits [after each
semi-annual taxicab inspection] PRIOR TO RENEWAL OF EACH
PERMIT.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Ordinance shall take effect forty—five (45) days from the
date it becomes law.

AN ORDINANCE to repeal Section 1-216 of the Anne
Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title
1, "Administration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel", Article II,
"Classified Service", and to enact new Section 1—216 in
lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the section
repealed, to establish salary schedules for all union and
non-union Classified County Employees.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Section 1-216 of the
Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements),
Title 1, "Administration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel",
Article II, "Classified Service", be and it is hereby
