AN ORDINANCE to add new Section 6-123 to the Anne
Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title
6, "Crimes and Misdemeanors", Subtitle 1, "Generally", to
follow immediately after Section 6—122 thereof, to
regulate the speed of motor driven boats or vessels on
Weems Creek.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That new Section 6-123 be,
and it is hereby added to the Anne Arundel County Code
(1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 6, "Crimes and
Misdemeanors", Subtitle 1, "Generally", to follow
immediately after Section 6—122 thereof, and to read as
follows:
SECTION 6-123.
IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL FOR ANY MOTOR DRIVEN BOAT OR
VESSEL TO BE PROPELLED OR NAVIGATED ON THAT PORTION OF
WEEMS CREEK WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF ANNE ARUNDEL
COUNTY AT A SPEED GREATER THAN SIX (6) MILES PER HOUR.
ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL
BE GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR, AND UPON CONVICTION THEREOF,
SHALL BE FINED NOT LESS THAN TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) NOR
MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00).
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Ordinance shall take effect forty—five (45) days from the
date it becomes law.
