COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

(1) grand prize of not exceeding five hundred dollars

($500.00) and one (1) grand prize of not exceeding one

thousand dollars ($1,000.00) in retail value may be
issued.

[No such license shall be required for the operation
of any such game by any patriotic, educational,
religious, charitable, benevolent or civic organization
or volunteer fire company or other agency authorized by
law to operate any such game.]

Section 12-272.

Each class S license shall authorize the licensee to
operate within its regular place of meeting [not more
than two] class H, for two] class M and [two] class R
licensed devices OR BINGO GAMES, SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING
conditions:[.]

(1)     SUCH LICENSE MAY ONLY BE ISSUED TO ANY
PATRIOTIC, EDUCATIONAL, RELIGIOUS, CHARITABLE, BENEVOLENT
OR CIVIC ASSOCIATION, VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY OR ANY
ELEEMOSYNARY CORPORATION AUTHORIZED BY THE LAWS OF
MARYLAND TO OPERATE SUCH DEVICES OR GAMES.

(2)    No license fee shall be charged for any
such license, but the APPLICANT [licensee] shall pay to
the DIRECTOR [clerk] of the department of inspections and
permits A PROCESSING FEE OF ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) [the
prescribed fee for the issuance of each such license].

(3)     Any devices or games so operated shall
be owned by the licensee and all proceeds derived from
the operation THEREOF [of such licensed devices] shall be
applied entirely to the purposes for which the license
was granted. [No such license shall be required for the
operation of any such device by any eleemosynary
corporation authorized by any act of the General Assembly
to operate any such device. ]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance
and necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public peace, health, safety, welfare and property, and
being passed by the affirmative vote of five (5) members
of the County Council the same shall take effect from the
date it becomes law.
