Rising Sun, Maryland, at 8:00 p.m.

AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the date of
adoption of this Resolution is May 16, 1974 and the
amendment to the charter of the Town of Rising Sun by the
Commissioners of Rising Sun hereby proposed by this
enactment shall become effective forty—five (45) days
after final enactment unless a proper petition for a
referendum hereon shall be filed as permitted by law,
provided a complete and exact copy of this Resolution
shall be posted in the Town Hall of Rising Sun until July
1, 1974; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that public notice of the
contents of this Resolution shall be published in a
newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Rising
Sun, once in each of the weeks of April 10, 17, 24, and
May 1, 1974.

Section 7. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as soon
as the charter amendment hereby enacted shall become
effective, either as herein provided or following a
referendum, the Commissioners of the Town of Rising Sun
shall send separately, by Registered Mail, to the
Secretary of the State of Maryland, and to the Department
of Legislative Reference, to the Clerk of the Court for
Cecil County, and to the Cleric or similar official
thereof with the Director of the Hall of Records, the
following information concerning the charter amendment:
(1) The Complete text of Section 31—9, subsection (a) of
the charter of the Town of Rising Sun, as under the Code
of Cecil County, Maryland, adopted January 25, 1971,
under Chapter 31 of said Code which incorporates the
charter of the Town of Rising Sun as under the Code of
Cecil County, Maryland, adopted January 25, 1971, under
Chapter 31 of said Code which incorporates the charter of
the Town of Rising Sun by reference; (2) the date of the
referendum election, if any, held with respect thereto;
(3) the number of votes cast for and against the question
containing the charter amendment whether by the
Commissioners of the Town of Rising Sun or in a
referendum; (4) the effective date of the charter
amendment; and (5) a complete description of the original
boundaries of the municipality and a complete description
of the new boundaries of the area hereby annexed.
