RISING SUN

WHEREAS, upon presentation of the petition to the
Board of Commissioners of the Town of Rising Sun, the
presiding officer thereof caused to be made a
verification of the signatures thereon and ascertained
that the persons signing the said petition owned at least
2 5 percent or more of the assessed valuation of the real
property located in the area to be annexed; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners, upon proper
verification of the requirements of the law as
hereinabove set forth, have caused this resolution to be
introduced, proposing the change of boundaries as
requested in the said petition; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the Town of Rising Sun

have previously, on June 13, 1961, annexed a tract of

land to the corporate boundaries of said Town, the

description of which was never incorporated into the
aforesaid Section 31—9 of the charter of Rising Sun.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners
of Rising Sun, that Section 31—9 of the Charter of Rising
Sun, entitled Corporate boundaries, subsection (a)
thereof, be and is hereby amended by creating four
subparagraphs to read as follows:

(The original Town Boundaries are set forth in new
subparagraph (1), the 1961 annexation in new subparagraph

(2) , the present proposed annexation in new subparagraph

(3)  and other language of previous subsection (a) is
incorporated into new subparagraph (4). Amendments to
the language of previous subsection (a) are shown by
capitalizing additions and enclosing deletions in
brackets.)

(a) Described. The corporate bounds of limits of
said [village] TOWN shall be as follows:

(1)                    BEGINNING AT A STONE ON THE NORTH

SIDE OF HARRISVILLE ROAD, THREE HUNDRED FEET IN A
WESTERLY DIRECTION FROM THE CENTER OF WILSON AVENUE,
WHERE THE SAME JOINS THE SAID PUBLIC ROAD; AND RUNNING
THENCE NORTH TWENTY-THREE DEGREES AND FORTY-FIVE MINUTES,
EAST ONE THOUSAND AND TWENTY-NINE AND THREE-TENTHS FEET,
TO A STONE AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE PUBLIC SCHOOL
LOT; THENCE NORTH EIGHTY-SEVEN DEGREES AND TWENTY
MINUTES, EAST TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY-FIVE
FEET AND SEVEN-TENTHS OF A FOOT TO A STONE IN KEILHOLTZ
MEADOW, SEVEN FEET EAST OF THE RUN AND THIRTY FEET
NORTHWEST OF AN ASH TREE; THENCE SOUTH FIFTY-EIGHT
DEGREES, EAST FIFTEEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SEVEN FEET TO A
STONE FIFTEEN FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER OF THE PUBLIC ROAD
LEADING TO BRICK MEETING HOUSE NEAR THE BRIDGE BELOW
