MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

RESOLUTION (CHARTER) NO. 1974-4
RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND TO AMEND THE
TOWN CHARTER

BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of
Ocean City, Maryland pursuant to the authority of
Sections 11 through 18 of Article 23A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, (1973 Replacement Volume) to amend, and
the same hereby is amended, Sub-Section B of Section
193—B, (now codified as Sub-Section B of Code Section
C—1004) of the municipal Charter of the Town of Ocean
City, Maryland by eliminating from said Section of said
Charter the natter hereinafter enclosed in double
parentheses and by adding to said Section of said Charter
the new matter hereinafter underscored as follows:

"B. Unclassified service — The unclassified service
shall comprise the following offices and positions, which
shall not be included within the merit systems:

1.     The Mayor, the Councilmen and persons
appointed to fill vacancies in these positions.

2.     The Clerk—Treasurer and the town
attorney.

3.     The heads of all departments, offices
and agencies and members of town boards and commissions.

4.     Part—time, temporary and unpaid offices
and positions.

5.     POLICE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS AND
PERSONNEL."

The Sub-Section B of Section (193—B) (now codified
as Sub-Section B of Code Section C—1004), as amended
shall read as follows:

"B. Unclassified service — The unclassified service
shall comprise the following offices and positions, which
shall not be included within the merit systems:

1.     The Mayor, the Councilmen and persons
appointed to fill vacancies in these positions.

2.     The Clerk—Treasurer and the town
attorney.

3.     The heads of all departments, offices
and agencies and members of town boards and commissions.
