AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That as soon as the
Charter Amendment hereby enacted shall become effective
either as herein provided or following a referendum, the
Chief Executive Officer of the Town of La Plata shall
cause to be sent separately, by certified mail, to the
Secretary of State of Maryland and to the Department of
Legislative Reference the following information
concerning the Charter Amendment:

(1)    The complete text thereof;

(2)    The date of the referendum election, if any;

(3)    The number of votes cast for and against each
question containing the Charter Amendment, whether by the
Council of the Town of La Plata or in a referendum;

RESOLUTION NO. 74-3

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ANNEXATION OF
APPROXIMATELY 12.809 ACRES OF CONTINUOUS LAND WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF LA PLATA (BOUNDARY
CORRECTION).

WHEREAS the Council of the Town of La Plata has

ascertained that a mistake was made in the legal

description of land annexed into the Town of La Plata
during the annexation of circa 1948; and

WHEREAS property owners located in the area covered
by this annexation resolution have been paying Town taxes
since the aforementioned previous annexation proceeding;
and

WHEREAS the Town Council and property owners of the
area in question are desirous to extend the legal
description of the boundaries of the Town of La Plata to
incorporate within the corporate limits of the Town the
area in question; and

WHEREAS the Town Council has power pursuant to the
provisions of Section 19(b) Article 23A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (ACM), 1957 edition as amended, to
initiate by resolution a change to enlarge the corporate
boundaries after having obtained:

(1) the consent of not less than 25% of the persons
residing in the area to be annexed who are registered
