AN ACT concerning

Charles County — Nursing Homes

FOR the purpose of providing for the operation and
funding of nursing homes in Charles County; and
clarifying language.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of Charles County
Section 37

Article 9 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1969 Edition and 1972 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 37 of the Public Local Laws of
Charles County being Article 9 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1969 Edition and 1972 Supplement,
as amended) be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 9

37.

(a)    The County Commissioners of Charles County
[are authorized at their discretion to] MAY maintain and
operate a nursing home or homes for Charles County, The
operation and control [shall] MAY be exercised through a
board of trustees appointed by the county commissioners
OR ANY OTHER METHOD OF OPERATION AND CONTROL THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS CONSIDER PROPER.

(b)    The County Commissioners [are authorized in
their discretion to] MAY appropriate fa sum of money to
the home, not to exceed one hundred and sixty—five
thousand dollars ($165,000.) annually, to be administered
and expended as the board of trustees may deem proper]
THE FUNDS NECESSARY TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A NURSING
HOME OR HOMES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FARTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
