FREDERICK

ALL EMPLOYEES UNDER THE UNCLASSIFIED SERVICE UPON
REACHING THEIR SEVENTIETH BIRTHDATE SHALL BE, WITHOUT
EXCEPTION, RETIRED FROM CITY SERVICE.

ALL EMPLOYEES CURRENTLY ON THE CITY PAYROLL WHO ARE
AGE SEVENTY OR OVER SHALL HAVE SIX MONTHS FROM THE DATE
OF PASSAGE OF THIS RESOLUTION TO COMPLY.

ALL EMPLOYEES CURRENTLY ON THE CITY PAYROLL WHO
REACH THEIR SEVENTIETH BIRTHDATE DURING THE SIX MONTHS
AFTER PASSAGE OF THIS RESOLUTION SHALL HAVE SIX MONTHS
FROM THE DATE OF THEIR SEVENTIETH BIRTHDATE TO COMPLY.

SECTION II: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date of
passage of this Resolution shall be March 21, 1974 and
the amendment to the Charter of the city of Frederick
shall become effective on May 10, 1974, unless a proper
petition for referendum herein shall be filed as provided
by Section 13 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, and provided a complete and exact copy of this
Resolution shall be continuously posted in City Hall,
Frederick, Maryland, until May 10, 1974, and provided
further that a fair summary of the proposed amendment
shall be published in the News—Post, a paper of general
circulation in the City of Frederick in once in each of
the weeks of March 24, March 31, April 7 and April 14,
1974, and that all sections or parts of sections of the
Charter or ordinances inconsistent with the provisions of
this Resolution be and the same are hereby repealed to
the extent of such inconsistency.

SECTION III: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDAINED
that the Mayor of the City of Frederick shall send
separately by registered mail to the Secretary of the
State of Maryland and the Department of Legislative
Reference the complete text hereof; the date of
referendum election, if any; the number of votes cast for
and against the question containing the Charter
amendment, whether in the legislative body or in a
referendum and the effective date of the Charter
amendment.
