CHEVY CHASE VILLAGE

County which shall hear and determine the same and
determine who shall pay the costs of appeal.] be amended
to read IN THE EVENT OF DISPUTE AS TO WHETHER A RESIDENT
IS ENTITLED TO VOTE THE JUDGES OF ELECTION SHALL DECIDE
THE SAME PROVIDED THE APPLICANT WILL SIGN AN AFFIDAVIT OF
BONA FIDE RESIDENCE WITHIN THE VILLAGE FOR AT LEAST
THIRTY DAYS PRIOR TO THE ELECTION AND IS A REGISTERED AND
QUALIFIED VOTER OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND. IN THE EVENT
THE JUDGES CANNOT AGREE THEN THE ELIGIBILITY OF THE
APPLICANT SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE
BOARD OF MANAGERS WHICH SHALL BE FINAL EXCEPT ANY PERSON
AGGRIEVED BY REASON OF SUCH DECISION MAY APPEAL TO THE
CIRCUIT COURT FOR MONTGOMERY COUNTY WHICH SHALL HEAR AND
DETERMINE THE SAME AND DETERMINE WHO SHALL PAY THE COSTS
OF APPEAL; Provided, however, that this resolution be
posted at the Town Hall for a period of at least forty
days following the date of its adoption and provided
further that a summary of this resolution be published in
a newspaper of general circulation within Chevy Chase
Village not less than four times at equal intervals
within a period of at least forty days after the adoption
of this resolution.

This amendment shall become effective following the
compliance with the above—mentioned conditions on the
fiftieth day after its having been passed by the board.

CHEVY CHASE VILLAGE CHARTER - AMENDMENT

A CHARTER AMENDMENT ENTITLED:

6. An amendment to amend section 80 of the Chevy Chase
Village Charter so as to provide that the board of
managers will not purchase materials and equipment or
undertake work which requires an independent contractor
or supplier where the cost of such purchases or work
exceeds $3,000.00, rather than $1,500.00, without first
preparing specifications therefor, and inviting bids for
the same.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Managers of Chevy
Chase Village on this 11th day of February, 1974, that
Section 80 of the Chevy Chase Village Charter reading
("The Board of Managers shall not expend for material,
equipment or work which requires an independent
contractor or supplier, a sum exceeding Fifteen Hundred
($1,500.00) Dollars without first having prepared the
specifications therefor, and inviting bids for the same
after which said Board of Managers may purchase such
material or equipment, or make contract for such work or
