If the council shall by the required vote and in the
prescribed time refuse to confirm such nomination, the
mayor shall, at the next regular meeting of the council
send it to another name for such office. The duties of
the town council and mayor shall continue to be as above
prescribed until a confirmation is had or a failure to
act by the council.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a complete and exact
copy of the aforegoing Resolution be posted at the
Brunswick City Hall for a period of at least forty (40)
days commencing on July 9, 1974; and that a fair summary
of the aforegoing Resolution be published in the
Brunswick Citizen at least four (4) times at weekly
intervals during the aforesaid forty (40) day period; and
that the aforegoing Resolution shall become a part of the
Municipal Charter of Brunswick on the fiftieth (50th) day
following its adoption unless a petition requesting a
referendum on the matter is submitted to the Mayor and
Council of Brunswick on or before the fortieth (40th) day
following the adoption of this Resolution, in compliance
with the provisions of Article 23A. Section 13 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition, as amended, and
its supplements).

MARYLAND, 1959 EDITION, AS AMENDED, TO ELIMINATE THE
FINANCE COMMISSION AND ITS ADVISORY POWERS AS TO TOWN
FINANCES AND APPOINTMENTS BY MAYOR AND TO REPEAL AND
RE-ENACT WITH AMENDMENTS SECTION 16-45 AND SECTION 16-46
OF CHAPTER V. TOWN OFFICERS AND COMMISSIONS, OF CHAPTER
16. BRUNSWICK. OF THE CODE OF THE COUNTY OF FREDERICK,
MARYLAND, 1959 EDITION, AS AMENDED, TO ELIMINATE ANY
REFERENCES THEREIN TO THE FINANCE COMMISSION.

That Section 16-43 and 16-44 of Article V. Town
Officers and Commissions, of Chapter 16. Brunswick. of
the Code of the County of Frederick, Maryland, 1959
Edition, as amended, be, and the same are hereby,
repealed in their entirety, and

That Section 16—45. Auditor — Nominations, and
Section 16—46. Same — Appointments; Oath, of Article V.
Town Officers and Commissions, of Chapter 16. Brunswick.
of the Code of the County of Frederick, Maryland, 1959
Edition, as amended, be repealed and re—enacted with
amendments so as to read as follows:
