MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
BY THIS CHAPTER, RATHER THAN ON THE SECOND TUESDAY IN
SEPTEMBER SUCCEEDING THEIR ELECTION.
RESOLVED, that Section 13-37 of Article IV of the
Charter of Brunswick, title "Town Council", subtitle
"Meetings", (Code of the County of Frederick, Maryland)
be repealed and re—enacted with amendments so as to read
as follows:
The members—elect of the Town Council shall meet on
the second Tuesday in AUGUST [September] succeeding their
election and shall take before the Mayor the oath of
office required by this Chapter, and they shall meet on
the second Tuesday in every month thereafter or as often
as may be necessary to discharge the duties of their
office.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a complete and
exact copy of the aforegoing resolution be posted at the
Brunswick City Hall for a period of at least forty (40)
days commencing on December 10, 1974; and that a fair
summary of the aforegoing resolution be published in the
Brunswick Citizen at least four (4) times at weekly
intervals during the aforesaid forty (40) day period; and
the aforegoing resolution shall become a part of the
Municipal Charter of Brunswick on the fiftieth (50th) day
following its adoption unless a petition requesting a
referendum on the matter is submitted to the Mayor and
Council of Brunswick on or before the fortieth (40th) day
following the adoption of this resolution, in compliance
with the provisions of Article 23A, Section 13, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 edition, 1973
replacement volume, as amended).

A RESOLUTION TO REPEAL AND RE-ENACT WITH AMENDMENTS
SECTION 16-23 OF ARTICLE III OF THE CHARTER OF BRUNSWICK,
TITLE "MAYOR", SUBTITLE "TERM OF OFFICE", (THE CODE OF
THE COUNTY OF FREDERICK, MARYLAND) TO PROVIDE THAT THE
TERM OF THE MAYOR SHALL COMMENCE ON THE SECOND TUESDAY IN
AUGUST SUCCEEDING HIS ELECTION RATHER THAN ON THE SECOND
TUESDAY IN SEPTEMBER SUCCEEDING HIS ELECTION.
RESOLVED, that Section 16-23 of Article III of the
Charter of Brunswick, title "Mayor", subtitle "Term of
Office", (Code of the County of Frederick, Maryland) be
repealed and re—enacted with amendments so as to read as
follows:
