SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That Section 3-5
of the aforesaid Charter, entitled "Qualifications of
voters.", be, and the same is hereby amended by
eliminating from said section that part thereof which is
hereinafter enclosed in double parentheses, and by adding
thereto the new matter which is typed in capital letters.

3—5. Qualifications of voters.

Every citizen of Boonsboro who [has resided within
the corporate limits of said town for one year next
preceding any regular town election] IS REGISTERED TO
VOTE IN TOWN ELECTIONS and who was a qualified voter at
the last preceding State or Congressional election of the
age of [twenty—one] EIGHTEEN years or over shall be
entitled to [register as herein provided, and thereafter
to] vote at any election held in said town, under the
provisions of any Act requiring an election to be held in
said town for any town purpose whatsoever, so long as
they remain on the registration books of said town.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the date
of the adoption of this Resolution is Oct. 8, 1974 and
this amendment shall become effective fifty days
thereafter unless on or before the fortieth day
thereafter there shall be presented to the Mayor and
Council of Boonsboro, or mailed to it by registered mail,
a petition for referendum thereon in the form prescribed
by Article 23A Section 13 (G) of the Annotated Code of
Maryland; and provided this amendment has been posted and
advertised in conformance with the provisions of Article
23A Sections 13 (d) and (e) of said Annotated Code of
Maryland; and further provided that this amendment is
complied and submitted to the appropriate State
Departments in accordance with the provisions of Article
23A Section 17A of said Annotated Code of Maryland.

SECTION 4. AND IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, That any
section or sections of the Charter of the Town of
Boonsboro, Maryland which are inconsistent with the above
amendments, are hereby repealed.
