BOONSBORO
Maryland and article 23A Section 13 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, to amend the Charter of the Mayor and
Council of Boonsboro as said Charter appears in the Code
of Public Local Laws of Washington County 1970 Edition,
by amending Sections 3—64 entitled "Payments to volunteer
fire company" and Section 3—90 entitled "Compensation"
SECTION 1. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
Mayor and Council of Boonsboro that Section 3—64 of the
Charter of the Mayor and Council of Boonsboro, title
"Payments to volunteer fire company", as the same appears
in the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington County
(1970 Edition) be and the same is hereby amended by
eliminating from said existing section that part thereof
which is hereinafter enclosed in double parentheses, and
by adding thereto new matter which is hereinafter
underscored.
3—64. Payments to volunteer fire company.
The Mayor and Council is hereby authorized and
empowered to levy annually against the assessable
property of the town a tax sufficient to raise a sum not
to exceed [two hundred dollars($200.00)] EIGHT HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($800.00) to be paid to the Boonsboro Volunteer
Fire Company so long as it provides adequate fire
protection to the residents and property within the
corporate limits of said town, said money to be used by
the said Boonsboro Volunteer Fire Company for the
exclusive use in its maintenance, operation, care and
purchase of equipment. Detailed statements of the
expenditures of such money shall be submitted to the
Mayor and Council of Boonsboro by the Boonsboro Volunteer
Fire Company in the months of January and July of each
year.
SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of
the Mayor and Council of Boonsboro that Section 3—90 of
the Charter of the Mayor and Council of Boonsboro, title
"compensation", be and the same is hereby amended by
eliminating from said existing Section that part thereof
which is hereinafter enclosed in double parentheses, and
by adding thereto new matter which is hereinafter
underscored:
3—90. Compensation.
The members of the Commission shall receive five
dollars ($5.00) for each [regular monthly] meeting that
they attend. The Mayor, or the member of the Council
serving as a member of the Commission shall be entitled
to receive this additional compensation.
