respect to the coordination of programs
and activities conducted within the
State under the provisions of the Older
Americans Act of 1965, as amended, as
well as administer such of those
programs which are delegated by the
Federal government to the State and are
not otherwise committed by law to some
other unit of State government;
(b) Coordinate, subject to existing law, and
assess and evaluate all State and local
programs, both public and private,
important to the well-being of the
State's aged, including programs and
services in such areas as income
maintenance, public health, mental
health, housing and urban development,
employment, education, recreation, and
rehabilitation of the physically and
mentally handicapped;
(c) Review and formulate policy
recommendations to the Governor on
publicly funded plans and programs which
have an impact on the aged;
(d) Consult with and advise the Secretaries
of the principal departments of State
government with respect to the programs
and services for which they are
primarily responsible and
(e) Develop a Statewide plan for a
comprehensive, coordinated system of
health, social and community services
for the aged.
4. In carrying out its functions, the Office on
Aging may administer, expend and allocate any
State or federal funds budgeted or otherwise
legally made available to it, for such
programs and in such manner as the Director
determines, consistent with applicable
provisions of law.
