EXECUTIVE ORDER OF JULY 11, 1974
ENERGY CRISIS - GASOLINE ALLOCATION RECISSION
WHEREAS, I, MARVIN MANDEL, Governor of the State of
Maryland, did on November 14, 1973, proclaim that a
state of emergency existed within the area
constituting the entire State of Maryland by reason
of an acute shortage in usable energy resources; and
WHEREAS, I further proclaimed that, in accordance with
the procedures contained in Article 41, Section 15B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, as amended by
Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1973, Second Special
Session, I would promulgate reasonable Orders, Rules
and Regulations, as I deem necessary, to protect the
public health, safety and welfare and to bring the
emergency situation under control; and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to the aforesaid proclamations, on
February 6, 1974, I issued an Order providing for an
odd—even plan of gasoline allocation for certain
motor vehicles, which order was amended by
subsequent Orders on February 11, 1974, and February
13, 1974; and
WHEREAS, After consultation with the State Energy Policy
Office and other responsible officials, I am advised
that by reason of increased allocations of motor
gasoline to Maryland and the effect of conservation
measures, such a gasoline allocation plan is no
longer necessary at this time;
NOW, THEREFORE, EFFECTIVE AS OF 12:01 A.M. FRIDAY, JULY
12, 1974. THE SAID ORDER OF FEBRUARY 6, 1974, AS
SUBSEQUENTLY AMENDED ON FEBRUARY 11, 1974, AND
FEBRUARY 13, 1974, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESCINDED.
