STATE ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD OF ELECTION LAWS
ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23—11 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State
Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 5, 1974, an Act known as Chapter 258
of the Acts of 1973 was submitted to the voters of the
State of Maryland under the provisions of Article XIV of
the Constitution of the State of Maryland, said Act being
as follows:
AN ACT to propose an amendment to Article III of the
Constitution of Maryland, title "Legislative Department",
(by repealing and re—enacting, with amendments, Section
40A thereof), to add Anne Arundel County to the
provisions relating to the immediate taking of property
by the State which presently apply to Baltimore City,
Baltimore County, Montgomery County, and Cecil County,
and providing for the submission of this amendment to the
qualified voters of the State of Maryland for their
adoption or rejection.
And it is hereby certified that at said election,
238,950 votes were cast for the adoption of said Chapter
258 and 240,798 votes were cast against the adoption of
said Chapter 258, the said Chapter 258 of the Acts of
1973 has therefore failed ratification by the qualified
voters of the State of Maryland.
