House Bill No. 452 — Permits for Strip Mining

AN ACT concerning

Strip Mining

FOR the purpose of prohibiting the issuance of a permit
for strip mining on certain slopes and providing for
measurement of slopes with a certain exception.

May 15, 1975.

Annapolis, Maryland

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
452.

This bill prohibits the issuance of a permit for
strip mining on certain slopes with certain exceptions.

Senate Bill 1029, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on April 22, 1975, accomplishes
the same purpose as House Bill 452.

Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign House
Bill 452.
