Park Land Dedication

AN ACT concerning

St. Mary's County — Park Land Dedication

FOR the purpose of permitting certain subdivisions within
St. Mary's County to make provision for the payment
of a monetary fee in lieu of dedication of open
space in certain cases; and to set a limit on the
monetary fee.

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill
1081.

This bill allows the Board of County Commissioners
of St. Mary's County to prepare regulations governing the
subdivision of land with the county.

The Attorney General has advised me that the title
of Senate Bill 1081 is defective and therefore in
contravention of Article III, Section 29 of the Maryland
Constitution. A copy of the Opinion of the Attorney
General is attached and should be considered a part of
this veto message.

For this reason, I have decided to veto Senate Bill
1081.
