JOINT RESOLUTIONS

(4)    Arrangements for financial assistance to cover
"start—up" costs for equipment, supplies, and initial
salaries of newly established, private non-profit centers
from which care will be purchased in areas where such
centers could not otherwise be established;

(5)    allocation of State—supported day care to
jurisdictions on the basis of the distribution of Aid For
Dependent Children (AFDC) assistance to those
jurisdictions;

(6)    Establishment of rates for purchase of family
day care which adequately reflect the income requirements
and costs of provision of the service by family day care
mothers;

(7)    Maintenance of State standards for day care
service programs and their educational content at the
January 1, 1975, level; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Department is requested to report
the plan and its recommendations in connection therewith
to the Legislative Council not later than September 1,
1975; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to
the Secretary of the State Department of Employment and
Social Services, 1100 N. Eutaw Street, Baltimore,
Maryland 21202.

Reusing Motor Crank Case Oil

FOR the purpose of requesting every department of the
State of Maryland to take all of the necessary steps
to establish a program for reusing motor crank case
oil.

The energy crisis has brought home to Americans the
unalterable fact that our energy supply is not
inexhaustible and that we should take every step to
preserve our precious natural resources.
