JOINT RESOLUTIONS
No. 60
(House Joint Resolution 72)
A House Joint Resolution concerning
Business Forms Required by the State
FOR the purpose of requesting the Governor to create a
task force to investigate whether all State agencies
can require a simplified universal business form for
a person who is dealing with or regulated by the
State.
It has cone to the attention of this Body that many
businesses, in dealing with the State government, are put
to much extra expense and bother by having to fill out
many different types of forms to the various State
agencies.
It is important at this time of economic recession
that the maximum productivity be obtained from every
source of the economy. It is wasteful for persons to
have to fill out various forms that accomplish the same
basic purpose.
Therefore, a task force should be created to
investigate whether the paperwork burden on private
industries can be reduced by promulgating a universal
form to be used by all State agencies, and investigate
whether this form can be computerized; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Governor of Maryland is requested to establish a task
force to investigate whether a universal form can be
developed for use by all Maryland departments in
requiring information from private industry; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That this Commission consist of two
members of the House of Delegates of Maryland appointed
by the Speaker of the House, two members of the Senate of
Maryland appointed by the President of the Senate, and
two members of the State government appointed by the
Governor, and two members from private industry appointed
by the Governor; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
the Governor of Maryland.
