JOINT RESOLUTIONS
Drinking Water Advisory Council to assist [[their
Departments]] his Department in implementing the federal
Act and any applicable State acts in a manner that is
most beneficial to protecting the health, safety and
welfare of the citizens of this State; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Secretary of the State Department of Health and
Mental Hygiene [[and the Secretary of the State
Department of Natural Resources]] be requested to appoint
[[a 15]] and eight member [[Joint]] State Drinking Water
Advisory Council to advise, consult with, and make
recommendations to the [[Departments]] Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene [[and Natural Resources]]
concerning the federal Safe Drinking Water Act and its
implementation and any applicable State acts; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the State Drinking Water Advisory
Council consist of five members each from the general
public, county and municipal water or public health
agencies, and private organizations and groups having an
active interest in improving the quality of the drinking
water of the State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Dr. Neil
Solomon, Secretary, 301 W. Preston Street, Baltimore,
Maryland, 21201, and the Department of Natural Resources,
James B. Coulter, Secretary, Tawes State Office Building,
Annapolis, Maryland, 21404.

FOR the purpose of urging the Maryland Congressional
Delegation to support legislation providing that
farmland and woodland be assessed at its value for
agricultural use for federal estate tax purposes,
provided that such legislation include a provision
by which State and local governments could recapture
the tax savings on any land not returned to
