Violet Blair Janin for the establishment of a public park
thereon in memory of Jesup Blair. The portion of the
farm is from the trees fronting on the Brookville Pike
and the road on the south, together with all improvements
thereon, subject to the conditions that (1) ample
provision shall be made for the perpetual maintenance of
the property as a park open to the public, and (2) all of
the trees upon the property be preserved except such of
them as it is absolutely necessary to remove in
connection with the laying out of the park; together with
the wish and request that if any of the trees on the
property are destroyed or die, they be replaced.
(b) Duties of Commission. The Commission [is
authorized to] MAY make provision for the perpetual
maintenance of the property as a park open to the public
and as a memorial to Jesup Blair, deceased. The
Commission [is further authorized to] MAY take possession
of, manage, and control the park as such, [to] preserve
the trees thereon, and [to] maintain the public park in
good condition and carry out the purposes of the devise
in respect thereto, [to] see that good order is
maintained therein and [to] build and maintain [such]
roads, buildings, and conveniences as [may be] necessary
or advisable for [such] THE public park, and [to] replace
[such] trees [as may] THAT die or [be] ARE destroyed, and
[to] do such other things as [may be] ARE right and
proper in maintaining [said] THE park and in carrying out
the purposes of the devise.
(c) Cost of maintenance. The cost of the
maintenance, development, and/or utilization of the
[said] lands as a public park shall be provided for
perpetually and annually paid from the general revenues
of the Commission received under this [subheading] TITLE.
The Commission [is authorized, empowered, and directed
to] SHALL make [such] THE expenditures annually, in
perpetuity from [such] THESE revenues, as [may be]
necessary to accomplish the purposes of this [subheading]
TITLE.
(d) Survey and recording of boundaries. The
Commission [is authorized to] MAY have a proper survey
made and [to] ascertain and determine the boundaries of
the land referred to in [said] THE devise; and [to]
record the survey and the boundaries in the land records
of Montgomery County; and [to] mark the boundaries in a
suitable manner.

Lands acquired under this [subheading] TITLE, title
to which shall become vested in the State of Maryland,
shall be held by the State for the general benefit of the
