classifications, for five or more years immediately
preceding retirement, shall commence upon attainment of
age 55 years.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975, and shall apply to the
retirement by correctional officers of Patuxent
Institution on or after July 1, 1974, in accordance with
the intent of Chapter 697 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1974.

AN ACT concerning

FOR the purpose of providing a State—wide system of
[[fire]] smoke detection systems under the control
of the Fire Prevention Commission.

Article 38A — Fires and Investigations
Section 12A to be under the new subtitle
"[[Fire]] Smoke Detection Systems"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 12A to be under the new
subtitle "[[Fire]] Smoke Detection Systems" be and it is
hereby added to Article 38A — Fires and Investigations,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as follows:
