AN ACT concerning

Juvenile Causes — Waiver of Jurisdiction

FOR the purpose of providing for certain standards and
procedures to be used by the Criminal Court in
waiving jurisdiction over persons not adults;
generally relating to a certain waiver of
jurisdiction; clarifying language; and adding
lettering as appropriate.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

Section 594A

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 594A of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

594 A.

(A) In any case involving a child who has reached
[his fourteenth (14th) birthday] 14 YEARS OF AGE but has
not reached [his eighteenth (18th) birthday] 18 YEARS OF
AGE at the time of any alleged offense excluded under the
provisions of § 3—808 of the Courts Article of the Code,
the court exercising jurisdiction may transfer the case
to the juvenile court if a waiver is believed to be in
