[[DEATH BENEFITS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS KILLED
IN THE LINE OF DUTY SHALL BE PAID TO THE DEPENDENTS OR TO
THE ESTATE]] IN THE EVENT THERE IS NEITHER SURVIVING
SPOUSE NOR CHILDREN PAYMENT SHALL BE MADE TO THE ESTATE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.

AN ACT concerning

Criminal Causes — Escape from Juvenile Institutions

FOR the purpose of providing that escape from a juvenile
institution which has not involved an assault is
punishable by a certain confinement; and generally
relating to escape and assisting escape from adult
and juvenile institutions.

BY repealing and re-enacting, with amendments,

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 139 of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
