AN ACT concerning

The Joint Budget and Audit Committee -
Federally Funded Projects

FOR the purpose of requiring the Joint Budget and Audit
Committee to review federally funded projects
received by the State which require increased State
general fund appropriation and to make
recommendations to the General Assembly.

BY adding to

Article 40 — General Assembly
Section 56A

Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 56A be and it is hereby added
to Article 40 — General Assembly, of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)
to read as follows:

Article 40 — General Assembly

56A.

THE COMMITTEE SHALL REVIEW THOSE FEDERALLY FUNDED
PROJECTS, PROGRAMS, GRANTS, CONTRACTS OR REIMBURSEMENTS
RECEIVED BY THE STATE AND WHICH WILL REQUIRE SUBSEQUENT
GENERAL FUND APPROPRIATIONS IN FUTURE FISCAL YEARS. THE
REVIEW SHALL BE BASED ON THE EVALUATIONS PREPARED UNDER
THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 20(B-2) OF ARTICLE 15A. THE
COMMITTEE SHALL REPORT TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AS TO THE
SUITABILITY OF THE FEDERALLY FUNDED ITEMS AND SUBMIT
RECOMMENDATIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE AMOUNT OF FUTURE
GENERAL FUND APPROPRIATIONS.
