The director shall have the power, and it shall be
his duty to:

(c) Subject to the approval of the Commission,
appoint such professional, technical and clerical
assistants and employees as may be necessary to perform
the duties imposed upon the Agency by this article, who
shall be classified employees of the State merit system.
HOWEVER, THOSE PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES OF THE MARKETING
DIVISION OF THE AGENCY, WHO HAVE BEEN SO EMPLOYED FOR AT
LEAST 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO JULY 1, 1975, AND WHO HAVE BEEN
DESIGNATED BY THE DIRECTOR WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE
SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL, SHALL BE CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES OF
THE STATE MERIT SYSTEM.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect June 1, 1975.

MARYLAND, That new Section 60B(d) be and it is hereby
added to Article 88A - Social Services Administration, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume
and 1974 Supplement) to read as follows:
