Article 33 — Election Code

Section 2-5 (b) (5)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 2-3(a) (2) of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1974 Supplement) he and it is hereby repealed
and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code

2-3.

(a) Each member of the boards of the several
political subdivisions of the State shall receive an
annual salary of not less than the following amounts:

(2) Anne Arundel County: [$1,800] $2,400.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Section 2—5(b)(5) be and it is hereby added to Article
33 — Election Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as
follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

2-5.

(b) The salary of the counsel shall not exceed the
salary of the members of the board.

(5) THE COUNSEL TO THE BOARD IN ANNE ARUNDEL
COUNTY SHALL RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY OF $2,400.
HOWEVER, IN THE EVENT OF SPECIAL ELECTION OR THE
RENDERING OF SPECIAL SERVICES, THE BOARD, WITH THE
APPROVAL OF THE ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY COUNCIL, MAY ALLOW
WHATEVER ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION IT [[CONDSIDERS]]
CONSIDERS COMMENSURATE WITH THE SPECIAL SERVICES WHICH
WERE RENDERED.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
