Maryland Nursing Home Association, Inc. The members of
the said advisory board who are in office on June 1, 1965
shall continue for the balance of the terms for which
they were respectively appointed. All members of said
advisory board shall be citizens and residents of the
State of Maryland for a period of at least one year
immediately prior to appointment; at least two (2) shall
be residents of the City of Baltimore; at least two (2)
shall be residents of the counties; and all members shall
serve without compensation. MEMBERS SHALL BE REIMBURSED
FOR EXPENSES INCURRED WHILE ACTUALLY ENGAGED IN THE
PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
STANDARD TRAVEL REGULATIONS. Meetings of said advisory
board may be called by the Secretary of Health and Mental
Hygiene or by any three members of the advisory board on
proper notice.

(c) Three members of said Advisory Council shall
be appointed from a list of names submitted by the
Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland; four members
shall be appointed from a list of names submitted by the
Hospital Council of Maryland, Inc., At least two of whom
shall be physicians; one shall be a person who has been
an owner or administrator of a licensed nursing home
within the State of Maryland for a period of not less
than three years immediately prior to the date of
appointment and shall be appointed from a list of names
submitted by the Maryland Nursing Home Association, Inc.;
One member shall be a member of the faculty of a graduate
school of public health in the State of Maryland; twelve
members shall be representatives of consumers of hospital
services selected from among persons familiar with the
need for such services in urban and rural areas; and one
member shall be appointed from a list submitted by the
Commissioner of Health. MEMBERS SHALL BE REIMBURSED FOR
EXPENSES INCURRED WHILE ACTUALLY ENGAGED IN THE
PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
STANDARD TRAVEL REGULATIONS.

The Commission shall consist of seven (7) members,
who shall be appointed by the Governor. The appointees
shall be persons who are interested in problems of health
care, of which four (4) shall be persons who have no
connection with the management or policy of any hospitals
or related institution. Of the initial appointees, two
(2) members shall be appointed for a term of four (4)
years; two (2) members shall be appointed for an initial
term of three (3) years; two (2) members shall be
appointed for an initial term of two (2) years; and one
(1) member shall be appointed for an initial term of one
