one member of the Board. The compensation and expenses
of the members and officers of said Board, and all
expenses, including office help and professional advice,
and services which, in the opinion of said Board, are
proper and necessary to discharge its duties and to
enforce the law, shall be paid out of such fund upon the
approval of the chairman of said Board, The salaries
shall be paid by the Board at the rate per diem of actual
service herein provided and traveling expenses, in
accordance with [State regulations,] THE STANDARD TRAVEL
REGULATIONS , shall be allowed to members of the Board
for attendance at Board meetings. Said Board may also
employ inspectors and examiners to assist the Board in
the discharge of its duties. The compensation of the
inspectors and examiners shall be as provided in the
annual State budget, but in no event less than fifteen
dollars ($15.00) nor more than twenty—five dollars
($25.00) for each day employed in the discharge of their
official duties.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
169 of Article 48 — Inspections, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be
and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
Article 48 — Inspections
169.
There is hereby created within the Division of Labor
and Industry a Board of Boiler Rules, referred to
hereafter as the "Board," consisting of seven members,
which shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice
of the Secretary of Licensing and Regulation, and with
the advice and consent of the Senate. Among the members
of the Board shall be one representative of the owners
and users of power boilers, one representative of owners
and users of heating boilers, one representative of
owners and users of pressure vessels, one representative
of manufacturers or assemblers of boilers or pressure
vessels, one representative of a company licensed to
insure boilers or pressure vessels, a mechanical engineer
on the faculty of a recognized engineering college within
the State, and a licensed professional engineer having
boiler or pressure vessel experience. The chairman of
the Board shall be appointed by the Governor, with the
advice of the Secretary, to serve in that capacity at the
pleasure of the Governor. Each member of the Board shall
be appointed for a term of four years to serve until his
successor is appointed and qualifies. Of the members
first appointed, two shall be appointed for a term of two
years, two for a term of three years, and one, the
