SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.

AN ACT concerning

Criminal Cases — Return of Seized Property

FOR the purpose of providing that if a criminal case in
which property of a person is seized pursuant to a
search warrant is disposed of in a certain manner or
under certain circumstances, all property of the
person, except contraband or any property prohibited
by law from being recoverable, [[shall]] may be
returned to the person to whom it belongs; and
relating generally to the return of seized property
in certain criminal cases.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 551 of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
