SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new

Section 98A be and it is hereby added to Article 2B —
Alcoholic Beverages, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as
follows:

IN GARRETT COUNTY, NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER
PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE AND EXCEPT ON SUNDAYS AND NEW
YEAR'S DAY, HOLDERS OF ANY CLASS LICENSES ISSUED UNDER
THIS ARTICLE MAY NOT SELL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES BETWEEN THE
HOURS OF 2 A.M. AND 6 A.M. ON ANY DAY OF THE WEEK OR AT
AMY TIME ON SUNDAY AFTER 2 A.M. HOWEVER, THIS SECTION IS
SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 89(I) OF THIS
ARTICLE REGARDING SALES ON NEW YEAR'S EVE OR NEW YEAR'S
DAY REGARDLESS OF THE DAY OF THE WEEK ON WHICH DECEMBER
31 AND JANUARY 1 FALL.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
