AN ACT concerning

Smoking — [[Public School Property,]] Hospitals and
Related Health Institutions and Offices

FOR the purpose of requiring the Directors of Hospitals,
Nursing Homes, Health Clinics and physician's
offices to implement and enforce a plan to regulate
the smoking of tobacco products.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 54H be and it is hereby added
to Article 43 — Health, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as
follows:

54H.

THE DIRECTOR OF EVERY HOSPITAL, NURSING HOME, HEALTH
CLINIC, AND PHYSICIAN'S OFFICE SHALL DEVISE, IMPLEMENT
AND ENFORCE A PLAN WHICH ADEQUATELY PROTECTS THE HEALTH
OF NON-SMOKING PATIENTS THROUGH THE REGULATION OF THE
SMOKING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS ON THE PREMISES.

[[SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Section 98D be and it is hereby added to Article 77 —
Public Education, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as
follows;
