hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 66 1/2 - Vehicle Laws
3-605.
(d) (1) Upon application to the Administrator of
the Motor Vehicle Administration by the owner of any
registered passenger motor vehicle and pickup truck not
exceeding three—quarter ton, beginning with the 1972—1973
registration year and accompanied with due proof BY THE
MARYLAND STATE FIREMEN'S ASSOCIATION that the owner is a
bona fide member of a volunteer fire department OR
VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD, and upon payment of all fees
required by this article, the Motor Vehicle
Administration shall issue special registration plates,
subject to the rules and regulations of the Motor Vehicle
Administration.
(2) AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION FOR THE ANNUAL
RENEWAL OF THE SPECIAL REGISTRATION PLATES PROVIDED IN
PARAGRAPH (1) OF THIS SUBSECTION, THE APPLICANT MUST
FURNISH DUE PROOF BY THE MARYLAND STATE FIREMEN'S
ASSOCIATION THAT HE IS A BONA FIDE MEMBER OF A VOLUNTEER
FIRE DEPARTMENT OR VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD.
[[(3) WHENEVER THE MARYLAND STATE FIREMEN'S
ASSOCIATION FURNISHES DUE PROOF OF BONA FIDE MEMBERSHIP
IN A VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT OR VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD
TO AN APPLICANT FOR THE ISSUANCE OR RENEWAL OF THE
SPECIAL REGISTRATION PLATES AS REQUIRED BY THIS
SUBSECTION, THE MARYLAND STATE FIREMEN'S ASSOCIATION
SHALL CHARGE A FEE OF $1 TO EACH APPLICANT WHICH SHALL BE
REMITTED TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE ASSOCIATION.]]
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
