TIMES A YEAR. OTHER MEETINGS MAY BE CALLED BY THE
CHAIRMAN. THE CHAIRMAN SHALL CALL A MEETING AT THE
REQUEST OF FOUR OR MORE TRUSTEES. ALL TRUSTEES SHALL BE
NOTIFIED BY THE SECRETARY, IN WRITING, OF THE TIME AND
PLACE OF ALL MEETINGS AT LEAST SEVEN DAYS IN ADVANCE OF
THE MEETINGS. HOWEVER, MEETINGS MAY BE HELD ON SHORTER
NOTICE IF ALL TRUSTEES AGREE. SEVEN TRUSTEES CONSTITUTE
A QUORUM FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE BUSINESS OF THE
COMMISSION.
57.
(A) IT IS THE INTENT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY THAT
THE MARYLAND VETERANS' HOME COMMISSION SHALL NOT RECEIVE
ANY STATE APPROPRIATIONS.
(B) AS A CONDITION OF ADMISSION TO THE HOME, ANY
VETERANS SEEKING TO RESIDE AT THE HOME SHALL PAY OVER TO
THE HOME ANY SUMS RECEIVED FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AS
PENSION, DISABILITY PAYMENTS, AND SIMILAR AMOUNTS, AND
INCLUDING SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS IN ORDER TO DEFRAY
PART OF THE COST OF THE VETERAN'S MAINTENANCE. HOWEVER,
EACH VETERAN SHALL BE PERMITTED ALWAYS TO RETAIN FOR HIS
OWN USE NOT MORE THAN $75 A MONTH FROM ANY AMOUNTS
RECEIVED BY THE VETERAN.
58.
THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IS LEGAL COUNSEL TO THE
COMMISSION.
59.
[[THE STATE MAY PAY OVER AND TRANSFER TO THE
COMMISSION MONEYS OR PROPERTY TO CARRY OUT ITS PURPOSES
AND OBJECTIVES.]] THE COMMISSION MAY RECEIVE, MANAGE,
EXPEND, AND DISPOSE OF GRANTS, MONEYS, AND PROPERTIES
FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OR THE POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS
OF THE STATE.
60.
SUBJECT TO LIMITATIONS CONTAINED ELSEWHERE IN THIS
SUBTITLE, THE COMMISSION MAY IMPROVE, SELL, CONVEY,
ASSIGN, LEASE OR OTHERWISE TRANSFER OR DISPOSE OF ANY
PROPERTY OR INTEREST HELD BY IT AND ENTER INTO ANY
CONTRACTS OR OTHER LEGAL ARRANGEMENTS. THIS INCLUDES,
BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, THE AUTHORITY TO LEASE PORTIONS OF
ITS PROPERTY FOR VARIOUS COMMERCIAL OR CONCESSION USES
CONSISTENT WITH THE PURPOSES OF THE COMMISSION FOR TERMS
AND UPON CONDITIONS THE TRUSTEES [[CONSIDERS]] CONSIDER
APPROPRIATE. HOWEVER, ANY LEASES MADE BY THE TRUSTEES
SHALL BE IN IMMEDIATE FURTHERANCE OF THE PURPOSES AND
OBJECTIVES OF THE COMMISSION AND NOT MERELY FOR
