Annotated Code of Maryland

(1964 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Sections 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57,
5 8, 59, 60, 61 and 62 under the new subtitle "Maryland
Veterans' Home Commission" be and they are hereby added
to Article 96 1/2 — Veterans, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to
read as follows:

Article 96 1/2 — Veterans

MARYLAND VETERANS' HOME COMMISSION

51.

THE MARYLAND VETERANS' HOME COMMISSION IS CREATED
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING, OPERATING, AND MANAGING
A VETERANS' HOME WITHIN THE STATE OF MARYLAND; AND FOR
THIS PURPOSE TO ACQUIRE [[AN APPROPRIATE SITE]] A
SUITABLE FACILITY AT AN APPROPRIATE LOCATION THROUGH
GIFT, DEVISE, OR DONATION, WITHOUT COST TO THE STATE OF
MARYLAND[[, WITHIN THE VICINITY OF MODERN HOSPITAL
FACILITIES, WHICH WILL PROVIDE VETERANS HOUSED IN THE
HOME WITH READILY AVAILABLE MEDICAL, SURGICAL, NURSING,
AND RELATED SERVICES]]. THE HOME ESTABLISHED BY THE
COMMISSION SHALL BE OPEN TO RESIDENT HONORABLY DISCHARGED
VETERANS OF THIS STATE WHO HAVE SERVED IN THE ARMED
FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES AT ANY TIME, AND ADMISSIONS
TO AND DISCHARGES FROM THE HOME SHALL BE UNDER RULES AND
REGULATIONS PRESCRIBED BY THE COMMISSION IN COMPLIANCE
WITH APPROPRIATE STATE LAWS AND ANY APPLICABLE FEDERAL
LAWS, RULES AND REGULATIONS.
