[Ch. 567

(g) The word "operator" is defined as any person

practicing beauty culture or hairdressing, or both[, who

is not a manager, apprentice, student, manicurist or
demonstrator].

(i) The word "owner" is defined to be any person
who shall own or lease the shop OR SCHOOL wherein beauty
culture is practiced OR TAUGHT.

(1) The word "electrologist" shall mean any person
licensed to remove surplus hair by means of specially
designed [electric needles, and does not cover the
general practice of beauty culture.] ELECTRICAL
APPARATUS OR APPLIANCES.

(r) The word "cosmetician" is defined as any person
who engages only in the practice of massaging the face or
applying cosmetic preparations, antiseptics, tonics,
lotions, or creams to the face[.], OR REMOVING
SUPERFLUOUS HAIR BY TWEEZERS, DIPILATORIES, OR WAXES.

[[(c) Every owner of a beauty shop must apply for
and secure from the Board a certificate of registration
on an application to be furnished by the Board, which
application shall contain the name of the senior manager
of said shop, said certificate to be known as "owner's
certificate" for which no examination shall be required.
In the event of a change of the manager of said shop it
shall be the duty of said owner to so notify the Board
promptly in writing[; provided, however, that in the
event the owner of said shop shall also be a licensed
manager, the owner's certificate shall not be
required].]] (C) AN OWNER SHALL MAKE APPLICATION FOR AND
RECEIVE FROM THE BOARD A CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION FOR
EACH BEAUTY SHOP OPERATED. AN APPLICATION FOR A
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION SHALL CONTAIN THE NAME OF THE
SENIOR MANAGER OF EACH BEAUTY SHOP. IN THE EVENT THAT
THE OWNER OF A SHOP IS A LICENSED MANAGER AND ACTUALLY
MANAGES THE SHOP. THE BOARD SHALL ISSUE AN
OWNER-MANAGER'S CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION, THE FEE FOR
AN OWNER-MANAGER'S CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION SHALL BE
THE SAME AS THE FEE FOR A CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION FOR
BEAUTY SHOP OWNERS. AN OWNER SHALL PROMPTLY NOTIFY THE
BOARD IN WRITING WHEN THERE IS A CHANGE OF THE MANAGER OF
A BEAUTY SHOP.

[A certificate of registration limited to manicure
the nails only may be applied for and granted under all
of the terms and conditions of this subtitle, except that
the examination therefor may be limited to such practice
