FOR the purpose of authorizing the governing boards of
State institutions of higher education and the
Maryland Council for Higher Education to adopt
optional retirement programs in lieu of the
Teachers" Retirement System for qualified employees
who elect such programs, providing for the
administration of optional retirement programs in
conjunction with the Teachers' Retirement System,
adding a new subtitle, relettering and clarifying
the language therein.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 192(1), 208, 210 and 211 of
Article 77 — Public Education, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be
and they are hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
