SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IN FORM PREPARED BY THE STATE
SCHOLARSHIP BOARD OR ITS SUCCESSOR AGENCY WHICH
DEMONSTRATES THE APPLICANT'S ELIGIBILITY UNDER SUBSECTION
(D). FROM THE QUALIFIED APPLICANTS, THE STATE
SCHOLARSHIP BOARD OR ITS SUCCESSOR AGENCY SHALL SELECT 20
PERSONS, AND ALTERNATES IN SUCH NUMBER AS TO ASSURE THAT
20 RESIDENCIES ARE ACTUALLY AWARDED AND ACCEPTED
ANNUALLY.
(F) THE RESIDENCIES ARE FOR 3 YEARS, EACH
RESIDENCY IS IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,000 PER YEAR, FOR
SUPPORT COSTS FOR THE RESIDENT, AND SHALL BE PAID BY THE
STATE SCHOLARSHIP BOARD OR ITS SUCCESSOR AGENCY DIRECTLY
TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE THE RESIDENT IS IN TRAINING.
(G) FUNDS FOR RESIDENCIES HEREUNDER AND FOR
NECESSARY ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES SHALL BE AS PROVIDED IN
THE STATE BUDGET FROM YEAR TO YEAR BEGINNING WITH THE
FISCAL YEAR 1977[[-78]]. ANY OF THE FUNDS REMAINING
UNUSED AT THE END OF THE FISCAL YEAR SHALL REVERT TO THE
GENERAL FUNDS OF THE STATE TREASURY.
(H) NOTHING HEREIN CONTAINED SHALL IN ANY WAY
IMPAIR OR AFFECT CONTROL BY THE HOSPITALS WHICH OFFER
ACCREDITED FAMILY PRACTICE RESIDENCY PROGRAMS OF THE
OPERATION OF THEIR PROGRAMS OR IN ANY WAY AFFECT THE
POWER TO FIX THE STANDARDS OF SCHOLARSHIP REQUIRED FOR
ADMISSION TO THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM.
(I) UPON THE FAILURE OR REFUSAL OF ANY PERSON TO
OBSERVE THE CONDITIONS OF A BOND UNDER THIS SECTION, THE
ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL DO THAT WHICH IS NECESSARY AND
PROPER TO ENFORCE THE OBLIGATION OF THE BOND. ANY MONIES
RECEIVED FROM THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE OBLIGATION OF A BOND
SHALL BE ACCOUNTED FOR BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND REVERT
TO THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE STATE TREASURY.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
